Mr. M’s Petition On Artificial Insemination Of Cattle Case

Facts

Mr. M, a dedicated wildlife enthusiast and diploma holder in Veterinary Science and Animal Hygiene, has devoted seventeen years to animal husbandry. He filed a petition under Article 226 of the Indian Constitution, challenging the arbitrary actions of authorities causing financial mismanagement of public funds allocated by the Central Government under the National Project for Cattle and Buffalo Breeding (NPCBB) Scheme 2000. He asserted that the authorities failed to comply with various provisions of the scheme, which aimed to enhance Artificial Insemination (AI) practices to promote indigenous breeds and increase milk production to meet the country’s growing demands.

Mr. M highlighted that government authorities acted arbitrarily and illegally, neglecting the scheme’s objectives. Instances were cited where funds received from the Government of India for the project implementation, such as providing semen straws at low prices and remunerating AI workers, were misused. The beneficiaries of the sanctioned amounts were not compensated appropriately.

Solution

Mr. M, driven by a noble cause, approached the Hon’ble Court under Article 226 of the Indian Constitution. Advocate Rajesh Kshetry, leveraging their expertise, assisted Mr. M against the authorities. The court ruled in favor of Mr. M, ensuring that individuals involved in the Artificial Insemination process would receive their rightful compensation. The authorities were directed to adhere to the requirements outlined in the NPCCB Scheme of 2000.
